I see one of my roles as a children’s minister is to capture the imagination of a child. This is more than simply passing on information or making sure kids can recite the four spiritual laws. It’s about helping children see and know a God who knows their name and wants to talk with them daily. It’s about helping children see the greater redemption story culminated in the death and resurrection of Jesus that is painted for us throughout all of Scripture. It’s about helping children to find their place in the story that continues today and into eternity. It’s about helping children know God with all their hearts, souls, minds, and strength. Then it is about living that out by loving those around them as they love themselves. It’s about helping children to know that they can change the world around them today and tomorrow and the day after that. It’s about connecting and involving them in the larger communities of faith they are a part of. It’s about helping them make Christ, and Christ alone, the centre of their everyday lives.
What does that look like in our ministries?
