I haven’t seen Hannah Montana: The Movie yet, but do have the soundtrack. When I first heard the Hoedown Throwdown, I thought, “That would be a fun dance to learn!” Then the Disney Channel showed a special with the choreography to it… I forgot to set the DVR to record it! Thank God for YouTube!
We’re going to learn it at FLIPT this week. That is our Grade 5/6 program on Thursday evenings. Some of the kids tried to teach it to us last week. Now, I’ve got the video to do it! Should be fun.
Have fun learning it yourself. I know you want to!

yeah we are using this in our Adventure Week program this summer. Meaning Bubba and Cletus aka our CP (nedgable.com) & I will be well versed in the throwdown.

Posted by Henry Zonio | May 8, 2009, 8:18 pmwe tackled the Hoedown for our VBS this year.
One of our dance-gifted college student leaders (who tried out to be a dallas cowboy cheerleader for this season) taught the choreography to a group of our youth crew leaders.
Every morning session started with this song and, by the end, most of the kids in attendance could do most of the dance.
Not a whole lot of weight to it, but the sense of community that is formed around dance is a pretty fun thing.
Posted by Anthony Prince | July 20, 2009, 3:51 amHow fun! Yes, there is something about learning a dance that brings a group together. I hope you got some video of that.
Posted by henryjz | July 20, 2009, 4:14 amWe did. However, I'm pretty strict about not letting VBS video get online. We'll only use it for in-house publicity and promotion.
Posted by Anthony Prince | July 20, 2009, 4:33 amUnderstandable. I seem to forget to make sure moments like those are recorded for memories' sake.
