- 5:13 AM henryjz - Eugene: we realized we are privileged and made choice to start this organization… it’s called One Day’s Wages
- 5:14 AM henryjz - Eugene: point is to give up one day’s wages (.04% of your income) to fight global poverty
- 5:14 AM henryjz - Eugene: partner with organizations that are already out there and assist them in fighting poverty
- 5:15 AM henryjz - Charles: already 300,000 ppl following the facebook page and still no webpage… wow
- 5:16 AM henryjz - Eugene: that was intentional (not to have a webpage yet)… so started group to get ppl to join and will donate $1 per person who joins the group… now over 300,000 joined the group
- 5:16 AM henryjz - Eugene started it because his kids watched poverty on TV, asked him if it was real and then asked what they were doing about it

- 5:28 AM henryjz - Scott went with Mercy Ships to photographically document what they were doing and learned about clean water and need for wells
- 5:29 AM henryjz - Scott got home and was treated to $16 cocktail and realized that 1 bag of rice could be bought with that

- 5:30 AM henryjz - he went to his friends for donations and got a little over $96,000.. .then went back to Liberia with Mercy Ships

- 5:31 AM henryjz - 1 billion ppl don’t have access to clean water
- 5:31 AM henryjz - that’s 1 in 6 ppl
- 5:32 AM henryjz - we use 150 gallons of clean water per day per person… most ppl don’t even have 5 gallons per day per person
- 5:35 AM henryjz - lack of clean water is reason why many girls stop going to school because they have their period and no way to clean so miss too much school

- 5:36 AM henryjz - “water changes everything.”
- 5:36 AM henryjz - 20 gallons of clean water every second can be produced with a well
- 5:37 AM henryjz - women now have time to start jobs because they don’t have to travel miles to find water
