The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life recently released a survey study of people’s religious habits. You can take a look at the USA Today article to find out more information on it. I’ve already read two blogs and two newspaper articles on this survey, so you can expect to see more of it … Continue reading
I was very impressed by the C3 Kids Conference. The FC Kids staff and volunteers were amazing. I tip my hat off to all of them. They were a huge blessing to lots of people. All in all, there were around 500 people who attended the conference, which is double what they were expecting. I … Continue reading
Today was a much slower day than yesterday, which I am thankful for. I appreciated yesterday and felt good after it, but I don’t think I would’ve liked it much if today were at the same speed. Today was definitely more of a day to reflect and rejuvinate and dream. A great way to end … Continue reading
This was the closing session for the C3 Kids Conference. A lot of people had left by this session, which always happens because there are people wanting to get home earlier. Unfortunately, those people missed out on a great presentation on utilizing people based on their temperaments. At Fellowship, there are three temperaments they look … Continue reading
For my third breakout at the conference, I chose to attend Kid-cipleship. This breakout outlined what FC Kids does to lead kids to make a commitment to Christ and follow through with baptism. The working definition the FC Kids use for discipleship is this, “helping children to apply God’s word to their lives.” In doing … Continue reading
For the first breakout on Day 3, I chose to attend FC Kids Leadership Uncensored. I had thought that it was going to be a presentation on the leadership structure of FC Kids and how it all works. It wasn’t exactly like that. Steven Dilla, the preschool director for FC Kids at the Grapevine campus … Continue reading
Well, if yesterday was like a satisfying workout, then this morning’s session was the sauna after the workout. (If you haven’t tried a sauna after a workout then you are missing out on one of the most wonderful things in life.) The session began with a devotional on each seat for us to reflect on … Continue reading
Overall, Day 2 was really good. I was exhausted at the end of it, but I didn’t feel overstimulated and overwhelmed. It was a good tired. The kind you have after a good workout. I’m looking forward to Day 3. I just wanted to leave some miscellaneous pictures from yesterday for your perusal Some of … Continue reading
Tonight was an evening session with Brian Houston, the senior pastor of Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia. I watched it at the Plano campus because it was streamed there and it is really close to my hotel. I think that Brian Houston had a rough start and rough end, but his main points were great. … Continue reading
After lunch, I went to a breakout on volunteer recruiting, training, and retaining. It was led by the three volunteer coordinators for FC Kids: there is one for elementary and two for early childhood. It was well done and motivating. It was neat to see the passion these coordinators had for volunteers and recruiting volunteers. … Continue reading
